TORONTO- Toronto FC have announced the signing of Eyvind Alseth to a first-team contract.
Alseth, 22, was selected in the third round of this year’s draft from Syracuse University. He spent four seasons with the University making 82 appearances, scoring seven goals and registering 18 assists.
Alseth played his youth soccer in Norway for Rosenborg before going to USA for school where he helped Rosenborg win to U19 National Championships.
Alseth was also a part of TFC’s partner club K-W United’s 2015 Championship winning team with teammate Sergio Camargo.
“He has fit in nicely with the club and we look forward to his continuing growth as a professional footballer,” said Toronto GM, Tim Bezbatchenko.
He will be added to the roster pending his International Transfer Certificate.
